SAP Solution:  Stock Take - Continuous Cycle Counting – GUI-XT Implementation

CLIENT required a system integrated Continuous cycle count system and process and as part of the SOX compliance they also had various levels of approvals.

CLIENT uses Hand held PDA devices with an in built scanner to perform the cycle counts. The main challenge was to access the SAP system and Emails from the same PDA when the stock controllers are on the floor and the warehouse is as big as 20 football grounds.

Objectives:

Perisoft developed the solution using SAP certified partner solution “GUI-XT”. A number of options were evaluated but GUI-XT was chosen as it seemed easier to develop the solution and we needed to implement this solution with aggressive deadlines but also ensure zero impact on the day-to-day business.

Major functionalities include:

• Touch Screen based GUI Solutions.
• Access to SAP system on the floor, thus eliminating any potential delay in approvals and process.
• Stock accuracy to be improved to 90%+

Implementation High Lights: 

• Efficient  Stock Process with SOX compliance
• Increase in Stock Accuracy to 97% within the first 3 months
• Increase in Replenishment accuracy between the bulk and the pick bins to 99%
• Implemented the end-to-end solution within 4 weeks with just 2 FTE
• Lead to a improvement in productivity of 750 hours per annum
